CHICAGO - Less than 600 words stand between most of America and basic financial literacy, but overwhelmed by a myriad of technical and often confusing resources, many people prefer to remain bewildered and intimidated by anything related to money.

In the third edition of That's What It Means: A practical guide to everyday finance terms, a book Steve Forbes calls "handy...for sound definitions," author Peter Woan has compiled a pithy users-manual that defines only the most essential financial terms in common use.

Covering the fundamental areas of personal finance such as banking, insurance, investing, real estate and taxation, That's What It Means equips readers with a working knowledge to build financial literacy, one term at a time.

Ideal for graduates, new hires, the newly engaged, anyone starting a financial life or needing a ready-reference, That's What It Means spells it all out, from Acceleration Clause to Zoning. It also groups terms within broad categories, listing banking, credit card and trust terms; insurance terms; investing terms; and more. Not meant for dummies or idiots, That's What It Means gives clear, practical information to ambitious individuals who want to make this crucial area of knowledge their own.

Even Steve Forbes Knows the Value of That’s What It Means!

“Handy source for sound definitions of basic economic and financial terms.”

-- Steve Forbes, president and CEO, Editor-in-Chief, Forbes
